Not your "mum's friend" type of celebrant - based in Sydney for city and regional weddings
Alison the Celebrant
Hi, I’m Alison Pickel, my pronouns are she/her, and I’m a marriage celebrant and wedding MC… but not your “mum’s friend” kind of celebrant.
Instead, I’m a straight-talking, Inner Westie, Leslie Knope fangirl who believes that making a decision to stick with your chosen person for life is pretty damn cool.
When I'm not catching up with friends over coffee (flat white, please) or hanging out with my two cats (Barney and Pancake), this Marrickville celebrant loves nothing more than hitching lovers and discovering that special brand of awesome that makes each couple unique.
I specialise in fun, relaxed ceremonies that still have all the feels. From our first hello until the final glass of champas is drunk, I’m the wedding cheerleader in your corner (minus the pom-poms and the ra-ra skirt).
I believe in inclusivity, flexibility and doing whatever I can to make this whole wedding planning thing a little bit easier for you. I live on the lands of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation, but I perform weddings in Sydney, the Southern Highlands, Wollongong and the Blue Mountains.
So whether you prefer traditional (but not stuffy), modern or something totally outside-the-box, we’ll co-create a celebration that truly reflects the two of you.
Not wanting a big celebration with all the fuss? No worries! I also offer elopement-style packages, as well as legals-only options.
My style: Relaxed, fun and personal.
Words I’ll never use in your ceremony: Destiny, journey, soulmates, moist.
Can you MC our reception?: Absolutely!
Dream wedding destination: Uluru (yes, I will travel to the Northern Territory to marry you. Let's make this happen!)
Feelings about pineapple on pizza: Abomination! (Convince me otherwise)
