Briony Skinner
Modern and lighthearted, with a touch of sentiment
Hi, I’m Briony! A 30-something, chocolate-loving, diary-planning, list-making, cake-baking, marriage-officiating wedding celebrant based on Brisbane’s bayside.
Celebranting-adjacent, my professional background is in aviation and media marketing and event management, though prior to this I’ve been a performer, presenter and public speaker from way back. It’s part of why I love being a marriage celebrant so much; it combines a lot of what I love into a unique role where I get to meet incredible people, hear (and tell) their story, and be part of one of the best days of their life!
I love getting to know my couples so I can deliver a ceremony you love; one that’s meaningful, enjoyable, and reflects you as a couple. Your ceremony can be as long or as short – as detailed or as simple – as funny, as mushy, as YOU as you want it to be. But I truly believe it should be a highlight of your wedding day, rather than the part you look forward to being over so you can get on with a drink and a boogie (though that part’s pretty great too!)
I pride myself on my storytelling skills and my ability to connect with an audience (your guests) through custom-crafted ceremonies that capture the essence of you as a couple… as well as legally getting you married! Available for elopements, ‘legals-only’ ceremonies or full-scale celebrations, any day of the week, I’m your one-stop-celebrant-shop.
I’ve been a qualified marriage celebrant for eight years and have officiated weddings along the entire east coast of Australia, across four states, including Tasmania. If you want me to marry you but you’re not based in SEQ, I’m available to travel, so get in touch.
